On Christmas Day, The Swan will be open for a four course Christmas feast (booking in advance is essential) and The Chequers will be open for drinks from 11am to 2pm. Both our pubs will be open on Boxing Day for festive food, drink and plenty of cheer – as well as New Year’s Eve.

Whether you’re marking the occasion traditionally or trying it for the first time, let us do the cooking while you savour the moment.

Make this Christmas one to remember at The Swan and The Chequers, where our private spaces are made for festive gatherings with family, friends, or colleagues.
At The Swan, The Nest offers an intimate setting for up to 22 guests seated, or 45 standing for mulled wine and canapés. For larger celebrations, our garden can be reserved exclusively, complete with a heated marquee to keep the festive cheer flowing whatever the weather. For something more laid-back, we can also set aside areas of the main pub for drinks and seasonal nibbles, bringing the warmth of the season into every corner.
At The Chequers, two charming private dining rooms — seating up to 34 guests or 50 standing — can be hired separately or opened up as one adjoining space, perfect for a special Christmas celebration.
Looking for something thoughtful to pop under the tree? Our gift vouchers are a lovely way to treat someone to a cosy meal or a well-earned drink at The Swan or The Chequers. It’s a simple gesture that says Merry Christmas, and gives them something to look forward to after the wrapping paper’s been cleared.
