Great British Beef Week at The Chequers

We’re celebrating Great British Beef Week at The Chequers with a weekend dedicated to seasonal specials showcasing the very best of British beef.

Join us as we serve up a flavour-packed menu designed for proper indulgence—perfect for sharing with friends, family, and fellow food lovers.

To start, expect a selection of bold, hearty dishes including hand-cut steak tartare, oxtail & onion soup, meatballs in heritage tomato sauce, and brisket bites with harissa mayo. Each plate is crafted to highlight quality British produce.

For mains, we’re going all in on elevated pub favourites. Highlights include whisky-glazed short rib with smoked bacon & potato salad, braised beef cheek with 

potato dauphinoise, and a shin of beef pie with bone marrow mash—proper dishes made for slower, satisfying dining.

If you’re planning something a little more indulgent, our porterhouse for two is the ultimate centrepiece. Served with French fries, rocket & parmesan salad, and peppercorn sauce, it’s designed for sharing.

This is a great excuse to try something new, celebrate the best of British beef, and enjoy a few days of seriously good food in the heart of The Chequers.
